ColorFrog is a classroom paint dispenser, that serves up a thousand colors. Four pints or quarts of primary colors are mounted onto ColorFrog, and with the touch of a screen, a very specific ratio of these colors is produced to create one of 1000 different colors. Students are attracted to this useful tool, and even second-graders are able to operate ColorFrog unassisted. Perhaps without realizing it, young art students are learning about the color space and how to navigate around it. They also begin to know what 10 milliliters and 100 milliliters look like as they select their sample size. All grade levels can interact with ColorFrog, being perfect for washable tempera paints or acrylics. Painters of fine art can return to the exact shade by repeating the unique color number. The students benefit but the art educator is the hero by bringing something fun and interesting to the table.
